Meet “Big Ed”. Big Ed is…well, BIG. At 6’4” and 300 pounds, his BMI is at 36.5. That puts him well into the obese category.
Now, Big Ed could become “Average Ed” by losing around 95 pounds — his ideal weight is 205 and that would give him a healthy BMI of 25.
Like most truck drivers, Ed also smokes over a pack per day. Being a long-haul driver also means that Ed has limited food choices on the road and not a lot of time for exercise.
